Just two months after its release, it's Samsung's fastest-selling phone ever
We loved the Samsung Galaxy S II and now the numbers prove you do too. Samsung has announced that its Android 2.3 flagship superphone has just hit sales of three million units since its launch in May - just two months ago.
It ain't quite Apple-levels of iPhone hype - the iPhone 4 sold 1.7 million units three days after launch - but it does prove a trend we've been starting to spot: you love other OSes besides Apple.
Our polls show that 75% of 500+ people were planning to buy a Nokia Windows Phone 7 handset, while 81% of the 600 people who answered would buy an Android Honeycomb tablet this year.
Perhaps driving part of that is Samsung's iPad-slender Galaxy Tab 10.1 pipped to launch early next month?
Simon Stanford, Managing Director, Mobile, Samsung UK and Ireland said: "The Galaxy S II is our most advanced smartphone to date and has been a huge hit with customers. This latest sales milestone reflects how devices from our Galaxy range continue to exceed expectations, thanks to a combination of superb hardware, the latest OS and the greatest and most relevant content."
